Her story
A life saving gift
Although some of what happened was a blur some of the most important parts of this true story is what has made me now realize how much of a gift of life is worth. It began like this...

November 29th had finally come and my husband and i where on our way to the hospital and excited to have our twin girls come into this world. The doctors and nurses had prepared my husband and i of all the possible risks and scenarios. I was pretty sure that it was going to all go ok. But soon that feeling would drastically change to the worst feeling dread and nervousness I have ever felt.

The doctors quickly saw that I was bleeding more than what it should have been! They jumped into action and began several procedures to stop the bleeding but the blood loss was fast and did not stop. At this point the doctors decided that a blood transfusion was absolutely necessary. I didn't know what to think. restlessness, uncertainty and the thought of possibly not surviving this had all raced through my mind. the well trained doctors came up with a plan and they wanted to act on it fast.

A second surgery needed to happen. I was rushed back to the operating room. By this point I am not sure about all of what happened next. I can tell you what the doctors and my husband told me.
The doctors and my husband prayed for a miracle because I had lost all but one liter of blood and needed two full transfusions. I awoke in the ICU. confused and worn out all I could do was think to myself of how good God is and how He allowed me to be with my family. after a little while the doctors checked in on me. they were amazed at how well I came out of all of this and they shared that if it were not for gracious blood donors I would have bleed out.
It has been almost a year since this and my girls as well as my son are all healthy and so am I. I give Glory to God and many thanks to all who donate blood. Life is A gift and if we can give something of ourselves then so many will benefit from it. Please give, if not blood or organ for any reason, then your time or resources.

Thank You sincerely,
Melissa Moore
